Scalar 10K capacity-on-demand libraries come with extra capacity that you can activate in increments of 100 tape slots using software authorization keys. When most of the capacity of an installed unit has been activated, ADIC delivers additional capacity upgrades at no charge.

Capacity-on-demand libraries provide seamless pay-as-you-grow scalability, from 700 to nearly 4000 tape cartridges and from 1 to 84 drives, without any internal barriers or pass-through ports.

For users with requirements for mixed media or higher cartridge and drive counts than capacity-on-demand libraries, the Scalar 10K offers maximum capacity models. These libraries provide up to 13,884 tapes, 324 drives, the ability to support multiple kinds of media at the same time, and a high degree of configuration flexibility.
